This new venture is in addition to St Catherine’s 15 existing charity shops across Sussex and Surrey.

The new store, in Denvale Trade Park, off Haslett Avenue East, is the perfect place to browse for popular items like pine furniture, dining sets and three piece suites.

Items currently on offer include a dining set, armchair or sideboard and every purchase could make a real difference the lives of people being cared for through their terminal illness.

Peter Walsh, furniture shop and warehouse manager at St Catherine’s, said: “It’s really exciting to introduce our first House and Home store.

“We’ve already received plenty of quality furniture donations and the warehouse is full of pieces arranged in room settings so you can easily imagine how something might look in your home.

“We’re looking forward to continuing to receive donations of high quality furniture and home ware from people across our Sussex and Surrey catchment area and offer a free collection service to make it easy for anyone donating.”

Denvale Trade Park, on Haslett Avenue East, is easily accessible for customers being close to Crawley and Three Bridges Railway Stations, Crawley bus station and town centre. On site customer parking is also available.

All profits from the store will help St Catherine’s to continue to provide their vital care services.

With less than a third of their funding coming from the NHS, the hospice relies on the generosity and support of people in the community to help them continue to care for local people needing support.

These services are provided in people’s own homes, in a specialist Inpatient Unit in Crawley and through day hospice sessions in Crawley and Caterham which help patients live well through offering a variety of wellbeing activities.
