St Catherine's Hospice to be charity partnew for half marathon

St Catherine's Hospice has been selected as the charity partner for this year's Barns Green Half Marathon.

Taking place on September 25, Barns Green was voted 14th best half marathon in the country by Runners World.

This year, for the first time, there will be a brand new 10km race and the organisers are hoping the event will be bigger and better than ever before.

Race director Vernon Jennings said: “St Catherine’s was an obvious choice for our charity partner as it’s a cause close to people’s hearts.

“Many of us in the village have personal experience of or know someone who has benefitted from St Catherine’s specialised end of life care and we’re thrilled to help support their work and make sure that others receive the same kind of care in future.”

Michaela Clements, event fundraiser at St Catherine’s added: “We’re delighted to be working with Barns Green and are really grateful to them for choosing us as their charity partner.

“The money raised from their half marathon will make a real difference to terminally ill people in Barns Green and beyond.”
