Pippa-Faith Studley, aged nine, and of Fen Court, St Leonards, decided to write to businesses across 1066 Country for donations of prizes for an upcoming raffle.

She and her mum, Katie, have also set up a Just Giving page, which has already attracted more than £300 in sponsorship.

Sales of raffle tickets have also raised a further £200.

Katie said: “Pippa-Faith has Asperger Syndrome and Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD), which means all of her senses are heightened like sight, smell and hearing. This means she gets very anxious over loud noises and notices things other people wouldn’t.

“She is incredibly intelligent and thought enough was enough, that people should be made more aware of autism. Every day she struggles to leave the house and go to school and wants to tell people there is nothing wrong with being different. Einstein, Picasso and other great, inspiring people were autistic.”

Pippa-Faith, who attends Robsack Wood Primary Academy, is aiming to become a barrister when she is older.

Her proud mum added: “She has a lovely soul and heart. Her letter she wrote to businesses was so sweet and to the point. On Saturday (April 2) we dressed up in blue Morph suits, collecting money in Alexandra Park for her cause. It’s great people are supporting her.

“She would like to thank everyone who has supported her in her quest to raise money and most of all awareness of autism, as would Keith and I and her little brother Frank.”
