Sheraya Stafford, 19, of Warrior Square, St Leonards, set up a JustGiving page, aiming to raise £1,700 towards the piece of equipment for the Conquest Hospital.

Danny Stepto, from Hastings but who lives in Switzerland, heard about her story and donated £370 to make up the total.

A cold or cuddle cot is a term used to describe a piece of equipment designed to keep a baby’s body cool after its death and can be connected to a moses basket.

Sheraya lost her two little twin boys when she was pregnant at 22 weeks +5 on November 10, 2016. She said she was ‘so grateful’ for Danny’s donation.

She also added that the new cuddle cot will be donated to another hospital in Sussex, as the Conquest has just received a new one.

Danny said: “After seeing Sheraya’s story on Facebook I felt compelled to help her reach her target. Having suffered such a loss and wanting to help others who have gone through the same thing, shows that she has incredible courage and strength. I come from Hastings and although I live in Switzerland now, I’m confident the money raised by all the generous donations will help many families in the future have the time that they need to grieve.”
