St Mary Magdalene's school fair

A FUN packed afternoon was to be found at St Mary Magdalene's School Fair on Saturday.

There was a wide variety of entertainment to keep everyone amused, including the student's very own version of a certain popular tv show, namely, 'Bexhill's Got Talent'.

In addition there was face painting, a bouncy castle, hoopla, tombola, craft stalls selling bric a brac, cards, books, a barbecue, beer tent and, there was even the opportunity to attempt to splat the two school's lollipop person's with a wet sponge!

In the firing line, fielding the shots with their 'lollipops', were Eddie Ralph and Pauline Forward - who has been the school's lollipop lady for the past twenty six years.

She said the game gave people, particularly motorist's, the opportunity to, "get their own back" on the school's lollipop people in a fun way adding, "I can't remember whose brilliant idea this was but we went along with it!"

This was the first summer fair that treasurer of the school's PTA Kerry Cowles has been involved with, and she said it had been "nerve racking", organising it, but it was well worth it as they raised over 1,000.

She said: " The fair was a huge success and everyone had a lot of fun."

The money raised will go towards new outdoor playground items for the school.
