Police were called to a stabbing in Eastbourne last night (August 18).

Officers were sent to Firle Road at 9.26pm following reports of a stabbing near the working men’s club, said police.

An air ambulance was called to the scene and two men have been taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The area was taped off as forensic teams investigated.

Sussex Police says investigations are ongoing and if anyone has any information they are asked to call 101 or visit www.sussex.police.uk quoting the reference Operation Gradient.

A spokesperson for Eastbourne working men’s club said the incident had nothing to do with the club and its members are fine.
