Staff who putthe 'care' into a care home

I SAW such a disturbing documentary on the television about abuse and neglect in some nursing homes.

No doubt some friends and relatives would have been disturbed and upset.

I would like to mention the 'caring care homes' of which no doubt there are many.

The care received by residents here is, I can truthfully say, is second to none. How fortunate we are here.

It's a marvellous place. We have residents of over 90 years old, and one I believe to be between 95 and 98 who always looks immaculate, obviously with help from her carers.

She says what she wants to wear and then, when she appears, she has her daily paper, and after smiles all around settles to do her crossword puzzle '“ that really shows contentment and happiness in this environment.

A friend suggested I moved here, and how grateful I am.

I'm not ill but legs and arms don't always behave. I had wondered how I would manage, but the words often used here are: 'no problem we'll sort that out''“ and they do.

Our manager and owners Mr and Mrs Mastin do care for us and select their super staff with care.
