Stage is set for cycling tour to savour

YOUNG people are being recruited for a coastal cycling tour visiting Littlehampton, Worthing and Shoreham this summer, using drama to show how our food can be made more “planet-friendly”.

The Totally Tasty Tour will be pedalling its way along the south coast and up into East Anglia in June and July, visiting schools and community projects en route.

It is run by the Otesha Project, a charity which describes itself as “a youth-led organisation that’s mobilising our generation to create social and environmental change through our everyday lives”.

Team members, aged 18-28, will receive training in everything from bike maintenance to running workshops and performing theatre, as well as getting to grips with the dynamics of living together as a group and making shared decisions.

They will be in the saddle for four weeks, carrying all they need in panniers and bike trailers and covering some of England’s sunniest and most stunning coastline and countryside during the warmest month of the year.

Workshops and performances by the troupe will highlight the environmental impact of food, exploring how it could be made more people-friendly and planet-friendly.

They will also visit food projects such as organic farms and permaculture holdings.
