Standard higher than ever at In Bloom awards ceremony

MONTHS of hard work paid off when the victors of Bexhill in Bloom were crowned at an awards ceremony last Friday.

Town Mayor Jimmy Carroll congratulated the winners, chosen from just under 40 entries.

Sandra Melvin, chair of Bexhill in Bloom, praised the standard as "much higher than previous years".

"We were also thrilled that the following day in the carnival, the Bexhill in Bloom Float took first prize for the Community Princesses Category," she said. "So thanks again to Jessica and Anna, and their Mums for making this possible."

Sandy also thanked John O'Connors ground staff for supplying prizes and gardening expertise.
