All to help keep out the cold !- Remember to wrap up well and wear warm clothing and wellies. The track is suitable for push chairs, so also remember to bring an extra blanket for those occupants to keep them warm and cosy as well. Don’t forget to bring old pots or pans, or anything you can bang, bash, crash or just use to make a dreadful noise and a terrible racket ! - also cash for food, drink and donations. Every one will be encouraged to join in with the ceremony which will include music & drumming and generally making a lot of noise ! This promises to be a great, fun evening for ALL the family, based on this age old tradition. STAPLECROSS VILLAGE HALL: Every community aught to have a village hall, as it’s well known that they are the heart of the village. We, in Ewhurst Parish are very lucky to have one of the best village halls in the area, right in our midst, in Staplecross. On Tuesday March 3rd. at 7.30pm.- the Staplecross Village Hall Committee will be holding it’s A.G.M. This will give the residents of our community, from all three (3) villages, the chance to come along and talk to them about the village hall and to voice any concerns they may have. It may be that you’d like to see another activity started up here, or perhaps a sport or pastime re-introduced. This super hall has many benefits including a superb, fully equipped kitchen, neat & clean toilet facilities including those for the disabled and lends itself to a great variety of uses for all age groups. Now may be a good time to come along and discuss it, as they are very keen to see the hall used to it’s full benefit and capacity. One very good use will be demonstrated this Saturday, March 7th as the Village Hall Committee will be holding the first of their two (2) Mammoth Jumble Sales. Doors will be opened at 2.0pm so make sure you come early to bag yourself a real bargain as these sales are very popular. Donations may be left at the hall on the morning of the sale from 9.30am onwards but if you are unable to deliver them yourself, please ring Hilary on 01580~830704 or Pauline on 01580~830570 who will arrange collection.
