Step up shedsecurity in the Rother areawarn police

POLICE are warning residents to step up security at sheds, garages and outhouses following the theft of 72 bottles of red wine and six bottles of champagne at Station Road, Northiam.

A police spokesman said: “Garages and sheds often contain expensive items and equipment. To help deter thieves or aid the return of recovered property, security mark it with your post-code using a permanent pen.

“Strong locks, padlocks and hasps should be used to secure outside buildings and where possible, equipment should be further secured to strongpoints within and alarms fitted.”
