Stewart Gallery re-opens

IT WAS celebration time in Devonshire Road Road on Saturday when the Stewart Gallery re-opened it's doors.

Owner of the gallery, Malcolm Ettinger, who had been semi-retired, said he made the decision to re- open the gallery after the school clothing shop, that been operating in the premises, ceased trading.

He said: "I've been in business for thirty years and the gallery was previously open here for about twenty five years or so, then about three years ago I decided to semi-retire and the school clothing shop took over. When they ceased trading I decided it was time to come out of semi-retirement and open the gallery again."

With over two hundred stunning, gloriously colourful paintings adorning the gallery walls, Malcolm believes there is something to suit everyone's palette and budget.

He said: "We have a very mixed range of oils and water colours dating from the nineteenth to the twenty first century."

The vast European range includes seascapes, landscapes, beach scenes, and still life, with prices ranging from 95 up to 1,200.

And for bargain hunters there are also a few sale items available which Malcolm describes as: "Credit crunch beaters."
