Steyning Grammar Fair

STEYNING Grammar School was transformed into a winter wonderland for an anuual fund-raising fair.

Organised by the Friends of Steyning Grammar School, this year's winter fair raised 4,500.

The event was held at the school's lower school site, in Church Street, Steyning, before being moved to the larger Shooting Field site last year, due to the fair's popularity.

There was something for everyone, with more than 50 stalls selling crafts, local produce, alternative therapies and more, and the "game swap" stall proved a popular choice for children looking to spend their pocket money.

The fun atmosphere was enhanced by live entertainment, provided by students performing a range of music, while festive mulled wine and mince pies were on offer in the canteen.

Head teacher Dr John Peat said: "The school is greatly indebted to the Friends of Steyning Grammar School, for the large sums of money they raise for the benefit of the students."

The school has recently benefited from sports kits, masks for use by the drama department, and equipment and plants for environment areas at Church Street and the school's sixth-form centre.
