Geoffrey Collins, Manager & percussionist' of 'Creole Jazz', said the band started the sessions over 7 years ago and they are still going strong:
" It's thanks to the great atmosphere, loyal supporters, and newcomers who have been heard to say, 'I didn't think it would be as fun as this!'."
The core of the band comprises of Jim (Doc) Searson on reeds, Roger Hooper on Sousaphone and string bass, Colin Martin piano, and Geoff Collins on drums.
Each month the band invites special guests to augment the line-up.
These include trumpet player Dave Stradwick, Alan Cresswell on clarinet, and trombonist Tony Carwell.
Other local guests have included Arthur Gould, Chris Hunt and Dave Kedge.
Geoff said: "This great jazz scene - of lively and happy music just made for dancing - happens on the first Monday of every month, 8pm - 10.30pm and the next one is on June 7th. All members and guests are very welcome. See you there!"
Tickets cost 5 for members and 6 for non-members.
