Still time to join Rye Rotary’s Spring Walk

RYE and Winchelsea Rotary Club holds its big annual walk on Sunday May 20.

And they say there is still time to sign up for the sponsored walk, which is now in its 14th year.

Over that time the event has raised thousands of pounds for local charities and good causes.

There are routes to suit all levels of fitness and ability at three, six or eight miles.

Organiser Richard Popple said there has been a good level of interest in the walk which will go from Rye along the River Rother to Scotts Float or Iden Lock, then inland through the picturesque village of Iden, returning to Rye via Bowlers Town and Leasam.

“Drinks will be available at Iden recreation ground, those walkers without sponsorship are welcome on the day, making a minimum donation of £5 to our nominated charities. Accompanied children walk free.”

The walk starts from Phillips and Stubbs office in Cinque Port Street, Rye between 9 and 10am for all routes.

Entrance forms for the walk are available from Phillips and Stubbs office in Rye or by emailing [email protected] or phone 07530 772000.
