Student Attacked

THE leader of a French student group visiting Littlehampton has vowed to return next year in spite of her own son being beaten up by thugs.

Adrian Cosson, 14, suffered concussion after the attack, at the back of High Street, near Ockendens garden centre, last Wednesday evening.

He was taking a 12-year-old French girl, also in the 28-strong group, back to her hosts home in Gloucester Road when, for no apparent reason, three youths and a girl punched and knocked Adrian to the ground.

He could hardly stand up afterwards and had a bad cut on the chin, Adrian s mother, Dominique, told the Gazette.

Dominique, a teacher, has been bringing groups of students to Littlehampton from Vincennes, a suburb of Paris, for six years.

I always tell the parents it is such a safe town. This is the first time anything like this has happened in six visits. We will come back. Most of the students with us this time want to come again.
