Students create wildlife haven

PUPILS from Steyning Grammar School have helped to transform an outdoor space into a wildlife haven for elderly residents at Littlefair Care Home in East Grinstead.

Residents were on hand to encourage the young team in their efforts to bring all creatures great and small into the garden.

Littlefair has benefited from the hard work of staff from BAA Gatwick and Sussex Wildlife Trust as part of this year's community service volunteers Make a Difference Day. The large team of volunteers created a wildlife garden for the care home in just two days.

The team of volunteers spanned a large age range, including wildlife trust staff and volunteers and teenagers from Steyning Grammar School, who are part of the trust's Forest Schools project, which aims to build confidence and self-esteem through hands-on bush craft and conservation tasks.
