TWO students were welcomed by president Keith Mullen of the Rotary Club of Halisham for a two week course at the University of Sussex.
Students Maxime Timmerman from Lille, France, and Johanna Harnischmacher from Olpe, Germany, are the choices of the club’s friendship contact clubs in the two towns.
This is the first incoming youth exchange that the club has sponsored, and the two young people were keen to improve their spoken and written English by attending the ‘Summer in Sussex’ course for students from abroad run by the foreign lanuages department at the University.
Both students are in their tenth year and will be taking their final school grade exams next year. The course is designed to help them achieve a higher level and give them a taste of England - hosted by the Rotary Club.
