Stunning ceramics by Mayfield girls

The St Leonards-Mayfield School’s ceramics exhibition, including work from GCSE, AS and A level students, runs until July 1.

It ranges from contemporary themes to projects focusing on the ceramics process.

One student has produced a translucent lamp by casting logs in porcelain, carefully attaching paper-thin porcelain mushrooms.

Another created a ‘floating chessboard’, and a Hong Kong pupil has created a piece based on Tiananmen Square riots, knowing that the work would be confiscated at the airport if she decided to take it home with her.
