STYLISH RACEGOERS AT PLUMPTON

IT WAS more Royal Ascot than a country jump race meeting at Plumpton on Sunday.

Warm sunshine throughout Cantor Index Ladies Day '“ traditional opener to the winter season '“ saw elegant summer silks topped with the kind of titfers that normally grace a smart, society wedding.

Ladies wearing hats were admitted to the course free of charge and prizes were awarded to the best dressed lady (Kimberley Over from Hove) and best hat (Maria Cheslin from Southampton.)
