Success at Bosham Christmas Bazaar for St Wilfrid's Hospice

The rain didn't stop residents coming out in droves to support the Bosham Christmas Bazaar on Saturday (November 19).

Queues were forming outside the village hall where people were keen to make early Christmas purchases or try their luck on the Grand Draw or bottle tombola in aid of St Wilfrid’s Dreambuilding.

Event organiser, Liz Juniper, said: “We wanted to put on an event to demonstrate our support of St Wilfrid’s and welcome the new Hospice being built in Bosham.

“More than 100 local residents were involved in the organisation, from making crafts, cakes, jams and soups to helping during the lead up and on the day of the event.”

Liz added: “There was a lovely atmosphere - the team work incredibly hard to make it a success and it was a great joy to see people coming together in this way and having such an enjoyable time.”

St Wilfrid’s chief executive, Alison Moorey, said: “It was truly heartening to hear from so many people how much they are looking forward to welcoming St Wilfrid’s to the local community.”

The first time event raised more than £6,000 towards the new hospice.
