Success for Caring Community's first Spring Fair

BEXHILL Caring Community, held it's first ever Summer Fair at St Martha's church Little Common on Saturday and was a resounding success, raising just over £1,000 for the local charity.

The popular event had plenty to offer the crowds who had queued to get in, with a wide range of stalls selling plants, books, videos, games, toys, bric a brac, jewellery and delicious home-made cakes - made by talented volunteers and friends of the Caring Community.

In addition there was a tombola and raffle; teas and coffees were served and Bexhill's regal 'Carnival Court' were in attendance to help with the raffle.

Manager of the Caring Community, Margaret von Speyr, said the day, and the amount raised, was "absolutely fantastic' and that the success of the event was all down the the hard work and support they'd received from businesses, volunteers, and those who had attended and supported the fair.

She said: "This is the first Spring Fair we've done and we are so pleased with the fantastic result, but it wouldn't have been possible without the kind help and support we've received, and I want to give a huge 'thank you' to all who have helped."

The Bexhill Caring Community works closely with Social Services, doctors, nurses, hospital services, solicitors , friends, neighbours and relatives, concerned with the welfare of isolated and lonely residents of Bexhill.
