Organisers said Rose Whitehead was delighted to win signed books by Celebrity Big Brother star Liz Jones and a copy of local author Ella Barton’s ‘Storybook’, also with a signed message from Liz Jones.

Cats Protection supporter Margaret Barton told the County Times that Ella herself was there, much to the delight of 11 year old Annalise Hepton-Baker.

“Annalise was one of the first purchasers of Ella’s book just over a year ago when it was first published and she was so thrilled to see Ella yesterday that she gave her a big hug.

“Annalise told Ella that the Storybook was her favourite book and that she reads it every night before she goes to bed.”

She added that the money raised would be a great help for their work, and they are grateful to all who attended.
