Success on tap for Angmering students

INDUSTRIOUS students from Angmering have been praised by the village’s MP for their efforts to recycle used water.

Arundel and South Downs MP Nick Herbert presented young people from The Angmering School with the Crest award as part of a regional competition by Southern Water for their innovative design.

Nineteen students from key stages 3 and 4 united came up with a solution to save water, by recycling “grey” water.

Their scheme involved refilling a toilet cistern with used sink water instead of fresh water, saving resources at the treatment stage. It won the Angmering team runners-up spot in the competition.

Mr Herbert said: “I was impressed with the research and hard work which the students put into this project, and the professionalism of their presentation. It was good to see them taking such an interest in the conservation of such an important natural resource, and they certainly deserved their award.”
