Successful fundraising for Caring Community

Bexhill Caring Community thanks all those who helped raise £550 during its street collection at the weekend.

The next event will be a collection on Friday and Saturday October 23/24 at Sainsbury's when the Caring Community will also be distributing free light bulbs.

Manager Margaret Von Speyr said: "If anyone could volunteer one hour of their time between 9am and 4pm on either of the two days, we would be most grateful.

"All proceeds from these collections are for the refurbishment of the Community Room. Work has now begun on the project and donations are now urgently needed.

"If you would like to sponsor a radiator, fridge, cooker, tables, chairs, etc etc (the list is endless) please contact us.

"Once again we are in desperate need of drivers who, once a fortnight, would be willing to take library books out to those who are housebound or to drive residents to medical appointments. Mileage is reimbursed at 40p per mile.
