Summer alcohol safety messages

Sensible drinking is being highlighted this summer as campaigners in East Sussex join together to promote alcohol safety.

The Safer Clubbing and Pubbing Task Group have again launched their summer alcohol safety poster campaign in Eastbourne and Hastings and are also sending out safety information advice for display in pubs and clubsacross the County.

Various bus shelter sites in and around Eastbourne's town centre will display the Group's responsible drinking messages under the brand name'have fun stay safe'.

In Hastings the campaign will be helped by the Safer Hastings Partnership using their display screens situated in high profile places to drive home the alcohol safety messages.

A focus of the campaign this year will be to remind people to drink plenty of water during hot weather, especially if they are drinking alcohol. Safety campaigners say that when the weather gets warmer you lose more fluid than normal and the problem is increased by alcohol which dehydrates the body.
