Summer flower show this weekend

Yapton and District Cottage Gardeners Society is staging its early summer show in the village hall this Saturday, June 21.

Doors open at 2pm. The seven classes on show will be floral, cactus and other succulent plants, vegetables and fruit, floral art, domestic, children, and photography.

In the floral section of this show there is always a fine display of roses and sweet peas, there are four trophies to be awarded and the prizes in each class are now first 1, second 60p and third 40p.

A number of side stalls will be available, especially by popular demand, Terry's Cream Teas, which were much appreciated at last year's summer show.

The next show is the big summer show on Saturday, August 9, which will be the 104th annual show, held in a marquee on the playing field.
