Sun shines on Rye Show

RYE Country Show was a huge success on Saturday with thousands of people attending.

The event, at Salts Farm, raised an impressive £6,500 for the Rye Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital.

The Show’s Chairman, Jenny Yeo, said “I want to say a huge thank you to the Show Committee, the volunteers, sponsors and tireless workers who made this year’s Show the best ever.

“We had to contend with stifling heat and gridlock on the A259. It must have been terribly disappointing for the

many people who wanted to come to the Show but simply couldn’t get there”.

The hospital’s Fundraising Administrator, Ann Hostler, added, “Jenny does a fantastic job, as do her team and everyone involved zand we can’t thank them enough. We had a super horse show, dog show and classic car show and the feedback we’ve been getting is fantastic.

“Definitely the best show yet. If there is anyone who would like to be part of the organising Committee for the Show in 2013, do call me on 07788 485674.

“We’re always looking for people with a wide range of expertise - or just plain enthusiasm - and it’s a lot of fun organising such a successful event!”
