Sunshine means plenty of colour for flower firm

Flower power has taken over a Bognor Regis firm.

Omni (Brokers) Ltd has been submerged in blooms to ensure the summer starts colourfully and cheerfully.

Staff took advantage of the recent appearance of the sun, after some dismal weather, to soak up the brightness of the blooms outside their premises in Sudley Road. Lobelias and geraniums are among the 150 plants, along with bay trees, which have turned the business's frontage into a floral facade of every imaginable colour.

Company director Graham Rousell said the distinctive display was intended to help Bognor's second entry into the Britain in Bloom annual competition. 'It was tremendous to see so many firms involved last year and, with Arun District Council and Bognor Regis Town Council doing so much to promote the scheme, no doubt many more local shops and offices will add colour and pizzazz to their premises this summer.

'Having such a colourful frontage raises the profile of a business as well as providing an attractive entrance for customers,' he said.

'We have had a lot of complementary comments, not only from our clients but passers-by as well, that have been really pleased with the effort that we have made.'

The display has been designed to conserve water. Mr Rousell said his firm had also increased its roundabout sponsorship to take over the '˜squareabout' by Bognor Regis War Memorial Hospital.

'Seeing the roundabouts around the town looking so good makes a real difference to you as you drive around,' he explained. 'The originality and cleverness of the displays is breathtaking.'
