Surf's up as Dan aims for professional glory

LITTLEHAMPTON teenager Dan Sweeney is chasing his dream of becoming a professional kite surfer.

Throughout the winter Dan has been training hard in icy weather in Sussex and Cornwall, building on last year's successes.

The 15-year-old has been kite surfing since he was 13 and in 2008 entered as many competitions as he could, achieving some excellent results.

At Hunstanton, in the third round of the British Kite Surfing Association circuit competitions, he finished second and won the junior section in round seven.

This year he will be competing in the men's division, up against the best kite surfers from everywhere, all several years older than me."
