SUSSEX Horse Rescue looks set to stay at Hempstead Farm - for now.
In the charity’s recent newsletter Pauline Grant reports: “Many of you will have read or heard recently that SHRT was approached by developers a while back offering “£millions” for our land. Such an opportunity needed careful consideration with the potential financial safety net which would enable us to continue with our rescue work and sanctuary provision as we see funds dwindling in the economic climate. We needed someone to handle negotiations on our behalf and were fortunate to find Terry Bohanna who has worked tirelessly for the best part of two years. However, despite Terry pursuing all avenues it would appear the developers are now pulling back. At the time of writing and for the foreseeable future we will continue to be based in Uckfield – and that’s straight from the horse’s mouth.”
