Police are trying to trace the owner of a black Nikon SLR camera which may have been stolen in the run up to Christmas.

The camera was seized by police on December 18, 2012, believing it may have been stolen, however they have been unable to trace an owner at this stage.

Sergeant Dave Bennett of Brighton Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “We would like to hear from anyone who has lost, or believes they may have had stolen, a camera matching the description.

“Unfortunately we have no further details as to where or when this may have taken place.”

On December 18 two 20-year-old men from Peacehaven and a 17-year-old boy from Newhaven were arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods and were bailed until 29 January pending further enquiries.

Anyone who has information about the owner of the camera is asked to contact Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 839 of 18/12.
