Sussex Police help South Heighton playground project

SUSSEX Police donated £600 to South Heighton Parish Council towards a new playground in the recreation ground.

Cllr Trisha Gostock asked the police for help to allow the parish council to redevelop the park at the Hollow for the benefit of the local community.

Money came from Operation Bumblebee, which is a police run auction website like e-bay where items seized by police which can not be returned to their rightful owners are sold, with the proceeds going to charity.

The playground is in need of a major revamp.

Council members have been working with Denton Community Primary School to come up with designs for the park and equipment.

Ideas have included an enclosed toddler area, seating for under fives and replacing swings.
