Sussex travel and weather update

The A27 in Shoreham remains closed this morning (Saturday August 29) following the fatal plane crash at Shoreham Airshow last weekend.


The diversion via the A283 to Washington and A24 through Findon remains in place.

There is heavy traffic on the Sussex and Surrey border due to the popular Wings and Wheels airshow this weekend.

As a result, traffic is slow on the A281 Horsham Road in Alfold Crossways around the B2133 Loxwood Road junction, and in Cranleigh around the B2130 Elmbridge Road junction.

In Hastings, the A259 De La Warr Road in Bexhill is busy but moving eastbound before Ravenside Roundabout.

There is no reported disruption to the train service in Sussex this morning.

The weather today will be bright and sunny this morning but with a likely chance of rain this afternoon and into the evening.
