Sussex winemakers win eighth best Rose in the world

Sussex wine-makers’ award-winning Rose has been ranked eighth best in the world.

Bolney Wine Estate’s (BWE) Curvee Rose 2009 made the top ten in the World for Rose Sparkling wines in the International Challenge Euposia competition held in Verona, Italy, earlier this month.

Samantha Linter, head winemaker and managing director at the family-run business, said: “We are really pleased to get this recognition, eighth in the world is a fabulous team achievement!”

BWE are running their third Christmas Gift Fayre in their vineyard on December 7.

There will be a Santa’s Grotto and a tombola in aid of St. Barnabas house hospice.

Samantha added: “We’re hoping to encourage Sussex resident to keep it local this Christmas and support the British economy.”

The fayre runs from 10am to 4pm.
