Talent star will switch-on seafront lights

A TALENT show finalist will set Bognor Regis seafront alight tomorrow (March 31).

Seamus Cullen, a finalist from the 2007 programme - Any Dream Will Do - will help get the summer season underway by turning on the resort’s summer illuminations.

The Observer-backed event will take place on Saturday and is also sponsored by Bognor Regis Town Council and supported by Arun District Council.

The fun starts at 8pm in front of the Royal Hotel. The line-up of family entertainment includes a fire juggling, spinning show and performances by the Wonder Girls dance troupe.

Laughter will be booming when clown Zaz takes his turn entertaining the crowd and sparks really will fly everywhere when the sparks show takes over.

Seamus Cullen will complete the bill and flick the switch at 9pm assisted by Bognor Regis town mayor Jim Brooks.

This will be immediately followed by a fireworks display off the end of the pier.

As usual a beach funfair will operate from tomorrow onwards, courtesy of Coles’ Amusements.

For just £2 a year you can support the lights through the ongoing Adopt a Light Bulb scheme.

Forms are available from Heygates Paperback Exchange in the High Street and the Visitor Information Point on the Place St Maur.
