The 11-year-old from Hassocks has excelled at the National Championships organised by the National Baton Twirling Association (NBTA), and has been picked to represent England in the European Championships next year.

Georgia won five titles at the national championships held in Torbay, Devon in October. She also achieved the highest accolade for her age group - a scholarship to attend the newly created NBTA Twirling Academy where she will receive instruction from international coaches.

On the strength of her performance, Georgia has, once again, been selected for the England team which competes at the European Championships in Belgium next April.

She has been selected to represent her country in all disciplines and hopes to improve on the ninth place she achieved at this year’s European Championships.

Georgia trains at Freedom Leisure, Hassocks and also attends The Drusilla Duffill Theatre School in Burgess Hill, where she hones her dancing skills.

She would like to thank staff at both centres for all their help and encouragement.
