Talks held in bid to ease insurance jobs loss blow

ATTEMPTS to cushion the blow of Norwich Union job losses in Worthing have been made by MPs Tim Loughton and Peter Bottomley.

They were joined by Worthing Borough Council deputy leader Ann Barlow and Adur chief executive Ian Lowrie at a special meeting in London on Thursday.

It followed the announcement earlier this month that insurance operations at its base in The Warren would cease, resulting in the loss of 75 per cent of jobs, with the sale of the site in the next two years.
