Tall Tales To Tell

SEA cadet Natasha Tilsley has returned triumphant to Littlehampton after competing in the prestigious Tall Ships Race.

The 16-year-old student at Littlehampton Community School, pictured above, left, joined the crew of TS Royalist for the Brest to La Coruna leg and she was delighted when the ship came second in its class while she was on board.

She said: "It was brilliant. I really enjoyed taking part there were lots of crew parties and I managed to get to quite a few of those."

Natasha appealed for help a month ago in the Littlehampton Gazette and wanted to thank everyone who had come to her aid.

She added: "I would really like to thank Mrs Dearle. She sent me some money, but didn't give an address, so I wanted to personally thank her."

And she thanked everyone else for their generosity, financial or otherwise, especially her family.

"They supported me in so many different ways," explained Natasha.

She is now looking forward to relaxing for the rest of the summer before starting her A-level courses in September.

Although there will be one last blast of crew parties when the Tall Ships Race concludes at Portsmouth next week, when Natasha will no doubt be joining in the final celebrations.
