Tania takes a leap towards marriage

A romantic Felpham woman took advantage of the leap year to propose to her partner.

Tania Palmer made use of the once-in-every-four-years opportunity to make Neil Hanson her fiance.

She went down on one knee to propose to Neil last Friday.

'I was really excited about making the proposal,' said Tania (35), a social services clerical worker. 'Neil couldn't believe it, though.'

She and medical engineer Neil (34) have lived together in Icarus Way since January.

Tania's chance to pop the question arose when she won a leap year competition run by Spirit FM.

Her success gave her a 950 engagement ring from Littlehampton jeweller L Guess, as well as a night's stay in an Arundel hotel to celebrate.
