Tarring picnic beaten by the rain

ORGANISERS of Picnic in the Park Tarring made a brave start in torrential rain yesterday.

Worthing mayor Michael Donin and town crier Bob Smytherman were there to get the free fun day started at 10am.

But in the end, the thunder and lightning and continuous wet weather got the better of them, and activities were drawn to a close early afternoon.

During the morning, children were able to make lanterns and have a go on the bouncy slide.
