Tasty way to raise funds

A PIPING bowl of fresh home-made soup awaits all who visit Dorothy Goulder at her farm in Herstmonceux during Lent.

Every Wednesday until Easter, Dorothy serves up her very own vegetable soup to all who come and fancy a natter, along with freshly baked miniature loaves made by her neighbour, Eric Johnson.

'The aim is to allow people to enjoy themselves and have a chat with other local people,' said Dorothy. 'Eric's bread is second-to-none, and I've never had any complaints about the soup, so I must be doing something right!'

A bowl of soup at Dorothy's kitchen costs 2.50 with one of Eric's miniature loaves. All profits will be shared between the All Saints Church, St Mary Magdalene Church and the Information Centre in Herstmonceux.
