The supermarket, in Piries Place, has closed today (Wednesday June 17) after 25 years of trading in the town as they prepare to move on to ‘bigger and better things’ at their new home in Albion Way.

The new shop will be shared with John Lewis and the Waitrose store is set to be double the size of the current one.

Although most staff were excited by the move they couldn’t help but shed a few tears for the old store which has so much history in the town.

Senior manager Paul Newton started at the Horsham shop when it first opened.

He said: “It is very emotional closing the store down. I have lived a lot my life here. I met my wife and my first child was born while I was working here.

“Lots of people have come up and said they are sad it is going.

“But I am really looking forward to moving to the new store and moving onto bigger and better things.”

The new shop will open at 9am tomorrow.
