Teen motorcyclist dies in accident

A teenage motorcyclist died after being involved in an accident along the A27.

The collision took place on the eastbound carriageway of the A27 between Slindon and Arundel on Saturday.

The accident, around 1.55pm, involved a silver motorcycle and a red Volvo estate car. The fire service, South East Coast Ambulance crews and Sussex Police were sent to the scene.

The male driver of the car was taken to St Richard's Hospital with a head injury.

The 18-year-old motorcyclist, from the Chichester area, was taken by air ambulance to King George Hospital in London with serious injuries.

Witnesses to the accident are being urged to call 0845 60 70 999, quoting Operation Walworth.
