Teen went shopping with disabled woman's debit card

A teenager from Staplecross has admitted stealing a disabled woman's debit card and spending more than £1500 in an online shopping spree.

Holly Ip, 19, of Northiam Road in Staplecross, cared for the lady and was entrusted with the woman's card, but used the details to buy items from the internet in November 2009.

After a lengthy police investigation, the goods were found at Ip's home and she was charged with fraud.

Ip pleaded guilty at Hastings Magistrates Court and was sentenced to a community order for one year and must complete 100 hours of unpaid work.

She was also ordered to pay 50 court costs.
