Teenage racing driver dies

THE TEENAGE son of former British Formula 1 world champion John Surtees died yesterday after a 140mph racing accident.

Former Worth School pupil Henry Surtees, 18, was driving in a Formula 2 event at Brands Hatch in Kent, when he was hit on the head by a wheel detached from a car ahead of him.

The youngster was knocked unconscious before his car crashed into the barrier.
