Teenage woman attacked and robbed in Littlehampton

Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenage woman was attacked and robbed in Littlehampton.

The 18-year-old, from Rustington, was walking north on the A284 Arundel Road close to the speed camera when she was knocked to the ground from behind at about 4am on Sunday, November 3.

As she fell, she dropped her handbag and the thief stole her white and tan purse containing her driving licence and Santander bank card.

She suffered cuts and bruises to her hands and hips and may have been knocked out.

She was helped by a man who was passing by and saw her on the ground.

Detective Constable Emma Cruise said: “I’d like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen or heard anything suspicious.

“This was a nasty attack on a young woman walking on her own and I am keen to identify who robbed her.

“The victim’s purse has not been found but may have been dumped by the thief so I would ask anyone that sees one that fits the description of this one to contact us.”
