Teen's leg broken in New Year's Eve incident

Police are appealing for witnesses after an incident in which a 16-year-old boy suffered a broken leg.

Sussex Police say he was injured in School Hill, Storrington, around 10.30pm on New Year’s Eve, and was left lying in the road injured.

The suspect is described as a white man, about 6ft 2ins, with short blond hair. He left the area with a friend before the police arrived.

A 24-year-old Storrington man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, questioned and bailed until February 27.

Detective Constable Lee Simmonds said: “This was an unprovoked attack on a boy, which has left him with a serious leg injury. If you witnessed the assault or have any information, please contact police.”
