SIXTY years ago this May allied forces and civilians united in a simultaneous celebration of liberation.

With the surrender of Germany on May 7, 1945 the Second World War ended in Europe and hope was restored.

But where were you? Were you one of the millions who took to the streets on May 8, after hearing Sir Winston Churchill announce the allied victory? What are your memories of the day which became known as V. E. Day?
