FOOTNOTES: Brrrrr. Winter has finally arrived. As Jack and I ventured out one morning this week, we promptly shot back inside to pile on coats, scarves etc., realising the temperature had dropped like a stone. The daffodils in the garden are about a foot high, so fingers crossed they will survive. I adore them as flowers. Harbingers of spring and warm days, I have planted them liberally over the three lawns we have. Much to the irritation of the man who does our mowing, I suspect, as he has to dodge around clumps of them. But whenever I see them in full bloom, I am reminded of those beautiful lines of Wordsworth, ‘And then my heart with pleasure fills, and dances with the daffodils’. Keep warm and enjoy your week.
